The Motoberfest fun kicks off Friday, October 2nd at 5 PM! The Friday event is open to all, where we’ll be joined by Shawn Thomas and Louise Powers to recount tales of the International GS Trophy, answer your ADV Q&A, and more. Stop in, grab a bite to eat, and meet up and hang out with the local adventure community.
If you’ve got an adventure bike and want to feel more confident and prepared for off-roading, then you should join us for Saturday and Sunday, too!
We’ve changed how enrollment works this year, and it’s a win for you!
Instead of paying a registration fee, the $299 we collect from you serves as a deposit toward any new BMW motorcycle at Motorcycles of Dulles. Attend the clinic, ride with our BMW Ambassador instructors, and walk away knowing your money is already working toward your next bike.
Not ready to buy? No problem. Your deposit is valid for 12 months, and your out-of-pocket cost is identical to last year. The only difference is that this year, your dollars do double duty.

What do the clinics cover?
Riders in our clinics receive personalized instruction in a small class setting, and have the opportunity to connect with riders who share your passion for adventure! Both days will include a light breakfast, lunch, snacks, drinks, and event photography.
Level 1 Riding Clinic
The Level 1 clinic is designed for riders who want to learn the fundamentals of off-road riding and tackle terrain with confidence.
Learn about body position, control in low traction, what all the features of your bike can do when riding off-road, and how to set yourself up for success.
Only $299
Level 2 Riding Clinic
The Level 2 Clinic builds on the Level 1, and starts to cover intermediate topics in more detail. The level 2 lessons can vary depending on the riders’ abilities, weather, and other factors.
That said, you can expect it to include a mix of skills like hill climbing & descent, taking advantage of low traction, off-camber control, and more.
Only $299
Both clinics will be held in Marshall, VA, roughly 35 minutes west of Motorcycles of Dulles!
Who can attend?
Our ADV clinics are focused on large ADV bikes like the BMW R1300GS, but as long as it has two wheels and a motor, you’re good to go! We’ve hosted CRF 300s, Street Scramblers, Multistradas, Pan Americas, and even electric dual sports!
What do I bring?
Bring your bike, your riding gear, and a good attitude! If you have strict dietary requirements, please also consider packing food. We try to have a few vegetarian sandwiches for lunch, but options are limited in the area.
Are my tires okay?
We encourage riders to train on the tires they’d typically ride. If the manufacturer represents them as ADV or Dual Sport tires, they’re almost certainly suitable.
Is the clinic rain or shine?
We do run the clinics in the rain, but we leave it up to our instructors to draw the line. It comes down to two matters: Is it safe, and is the ground so wet it’ll derail the lessons.
What is the cancellation policy?
You may cancel your enrollment for any reason until August 23rd, 10 days before the first clinic.
If you’ve already spent the credit on the purchase of a new BMW, it cannot be refunded.
