SUMMARY:MOD Adventure Clinics
DESCRIPTION:MOD Adventure Clinics\n\nLevel 1 Clinic: Saturday\, May 18th 9 AM – 4:00 PM\nOr\nLevel 2 Clinic: Sunday\, May 19th 9 AM – 4:00 PM\n\nWant to try adventure riding\, but don’t know where to begin?\nWant to discover the secret to where the other 30% of your 70/30 tires went?\n Want to know what’s down that one rocky road you’ve been avoiding?\n\nMotorcycles of Dulles is proud to announce our next set of  adventure clinics with\n  \nBMW Ambassador Shawn Thomas and Brand Expert Louise Powers!\n\nLevel 1 Riding Clinic\nThe Level 1 clinic is designed for riders who want to learn the fundamentals of off-road riding and tackle terrain with confidence. \nLearn about body position\, control in low traction\, what all the features of your bike can do when riding off-road\, and how to set yourself up for success. \n  \nLevel 2 Riding Clinic\nThe Level 2 Clinic builds on the Level 1\, and starts to cover intermediate topics in more detail. The level 2 lessons can vary depending on the riders’ abilities\, individual needs\, weather\, and other factors. That said\, you can expect it to cover material along the lines of hill climbing & descent\, taking advantage of low traction\, off-camber control\, and potentially other topics! \n  \nWho: Any rider who has an adventure bike and wants to learn to use it!\nWhat: A full day of training\, with breakfast\, lunch\, snacks and drinks included!\nWhen: Saturday\, September 23rd or Sunday\, September 24th from 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM\nWhere: Marshall\, VA roughly 35 minutes west of MOD.\n  \nPrice: Only $275\nConsider applying for BMW MOA’s Paul Bachorz Safety Training Grant at https://bmwmoaf.org/rider-training/paul-b-grants/\nand enter “Shawn Thomas Intro to ADV” as the course name.\nMOA Members may be reimbursed as much as 25% of training cost!\nBut first\, get a year of MOA Membership for free at https://memberforces.bmwmoa.org/louisepowers with code LouiseIsARockstar\n  \nTo register\, give us a call at\n571.934.4450\nand ask to sign up for the adventure clinic!\n\nSpots are limited – sign up today!\n  \n\n  \nFAQ\nAm I allowed to ride my ABC XYZ\, or is it only for BMW bikes?\nWe’re happy to teach all brands of motorcycles. The class is primarily focused on big ADV bikes like the R1250GS\, but we’ve had riders train on everything from small ADVs like the KTM 390 all the way up to big Scrambler style bikes like the Triumph Scrambler 1200 XE. \nIf it has 2 wheels and will go off-road\, you’re welcome to ride! \n  \nCan I sign up for both days?\nYou’re welcome to sign up for both days if you like – but know that you’ll probably be tired by the end of Sunday if you do! \n  \nWhat kind of tires do I need for the clinic?\nKnobbies are welcome\, but certainly NOT required. If your tires are described by their manufacturer as dual-sport\, adventure\, 80/20\, or some similar verbiage\, you’ll be fine. We’re looking for good traction in dirt and grass\, not trying to set a hill-climb world record. \n  \nWhat skill level do I need to attend the Level 1 Clinic?\nOur clinics are designed to teach people who already know the basics of motorcycle riding. Off-road experience is NOT required (that’s why you’re attending!) but you should be generally comfortable riding and operating your motorcycle. If you’re brand new to motorcycling\, give us a call about how to get started and you can play in the mud with us next year! \nWhat skill level do I need to attend the Level 2 Clinic?\nThe Level 2 Clinic is made to build on the skills we cover in the Level 1 class. If you’ve completed one of our Level 1 or Beginner Adventure Clinics in the past\, you’ll be prepared. If you haven’t taken our Level 1 Clinic\, the most effective way to figure out which class is right for you is to give us a call at 571.934.4450 and ask to talk with Josh. We can talk about what you want to learn\, and decide which (if any!) of our classes is right for you. \nWhat kind of gear is required?\nWe plan this event late in the season so you can comfortably wear all your armor. You must at least have a DOT approved helmet\, gloves\, a shirt\, long pants\, and closed-toed shoes. Having a full set of gear is strongly encouraged. \n  \nWhere is the clinic?\nIt’s about 35 minutes west of Motorcycles of Dulles. The event is being held on private property\, and we don’t want to send our host’s address to thousands of people. Everyone who registers for the clinic will receive an email with the exact address and other important information at least 1 week before the event! \n  \nIs there a rain date?\nNo. Our instructors are touring the country teaching these classes and we can’t guarantee a rain date. If conditions are unsafe\, we’ll cancel the clinic and offer credit toward our next Adventure Clinic. Note: These are adventure bikes! We won’t be canceling for a light sprinkle or a gentle breeze. \n\nWhat is the return policy?\nYou’re welcome to give us a call and refund your ticket for any reason until 10 days before the first clinic. Anything past that point will be handled on a case-by-case basis. \n  \nCan MOD loan or rent me a bike to ride?\nFor many reasons both legal and logistical\, we can’t supply a bike for you to ride at the clinic. If you want to buy a bike and ride it at the clinic we can certainly help you pick one out. \n  \nStill have questions?\nSend an email to Josh@GoRideMOD.com and I’ll get back to you as soon as possible!

SUMMARY:Distinguished Gentlemans Ride 2024
DESCRIPTION:The 2024 Leesburg Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride will once again start at MOD!\nThis year\, there will be a $20 minimum donation to ride in the event.\nClick HERE to register!\n  \nThe Leesburg DGR is a parade-style fundraiser ride through Loudoun county in which motorcyclists dress up in formalwear and take their classic and classic-style motorcycles through the streets to get attention and raise money for men’s health causes. Expect low to modest speeds\, waving to pedestrians and motorists\, photo opportunities\, and a chance to meet lots of dapper gentlemen (and ladies)! This year the ride will once again go from Motorcycles of Dulles to Lost Barrel Brewing. \nThe Leesburg DGR has rocketed up the fundraising charts in the last few years\, driven by the hard work and dedication of the event organizers – Reda Ouchna\, JJ Cooney\, and the friends and volunteers who help them. In 2023 alone\, the ride hosted 175+ riders who raised over $35\,000 for men’s health. Motorcycles of Dulles provides sponsorship\, a venue\, and advertising – but these fine men handle all the hard parts. Give your kudos to them\, and your money to the fundraiser. \nThe Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride is a fundraising ride in support of the Movember Foundation – the proceeds of which go to men’s health causes in 4 key areas: prostate cancer\, testicular cancer\, mental health\, and suicide prevention. I personally encourage you to investigate the efficacy of any charity you donate to – and if you look at how the Movember Foundation ranks on Charity Navigator\, you’ll find they have a squeaky clean 99% rating.
